![]() Digital osc is continually morphing with 16 separate tables per shape. But some features that the Pro 3 has over the Pro 2: It's not necessarily an improvement, just an alternative in the same way that the Prophet X is an alternative to the Prophet Rev 2 which is an alternative to the Prophet 12. That said I felt the same way about the Prophet X but eventually changed my tune and ultimately bought one. I'm a DSI fan boy, but I feel a little meh about this one, or at least I have mixed feelings. ![]() I'm waiting for DSI to replace the Prophet 12 formally (unless they consider the Prophet X the replacement). I'd also be al little more excited if wavetables could be user updated (that said it seems DSI is against the design choice). Otherwise I think I'd be much more excited about this if it was a poly, even if just 4 voices like the PEK. Perhaps I've just been overwhelmed by the number of new synths/gear flooding the market these days. Is the ladder filter the same one Rossum designed for the Prophet X? And the aesthetic seems fine to me and it does seem reminiscent of the Tempest.Īnyways, yeah, I don't feel very excited about this one. If indeed only one filter can be used at a time this is much less exciting to me. Otherwise I find there is a surprising lack of info in the promotional stuff about the filter arrangement. The digital oscillator can be used as an LFO, I guess this is unique right? And maybe the mod matrix is more extensive? Though I don't think I would likely need or use that many mod slots. I think I was more excited by the four wavetable oscillators of the Pro 2. I see that there are two VCOs, which I guess is cool (though not so exciting for me anymore) and then a wavetable oscillator. ![]() How is this improved from the Pro 2? I'm not being a smart ass, this is a genuine question.
